College of Business and Law – University College Cork

University College Cork (UCC) was originally established in 1845 as one of three Queen’s Colleges in Cork, Galway and Belfast. In 1908 it became a constituent College of the National University of Ireland and a constituent University of the National University under legislation enacted in 1997.

The College of Business and Law is a vibrant and dynamic research and teaching environment which offers a broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate and post experience courses designed to meet the needs of the business and legal worlds.  Teaching goals include a commitment to innovation, excellence and continuous learning.

The College of Business and Law maintains strong links with local business and legal professions while also fostering national and international relationships.  As a research-driven, industry-focused, internationally oriented institution, the College of Business and Law provides a stimulating learning experience for students

About the Campus
The university has a beautiful and cosmopolitan campus with the gothic revival style main quadrangle building, modelled on a typical Oxford College, at its centre. The campus is within easy walking distance of Cork city centre where cafes, restaurants and night life combine to create a vibrant European city atmosphere. Cork is a university city with almost 30,000 students in different institutions of higher learning and was European City of Culture in 2005.

UCC’s main campus is within walking distance of this mass of activity and life. What’s more with the beauty of its campus, University College Cork is considered not only a respected University but also one of the nicest ‘gardens’ belonging to Cork as a whole.

Cork was also very proud to have been designated ‘European Capital of Culture 2005′, reflecting the strong tradition of music, art and theatre in the city.

Cork international airport is only 6 kilometres from the University. This allows for constant access to the international destinations and also highlights Cork itself as a globally attractive and exciting location.

Campus Accommodation at University College Cork aims to provide “a home away from home” for our international students. Campus Accommodation is more than just a place to eat and sleep – it provides social, cultural and sporting outlets and the chance to develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
