Nirma University Institute of Management Admission 2009
The Institute invites applications from the candidates who have appeared in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2008 for:
MBA Two Year Residential Programme
Two-year, Full-time Residential MBA
The programme follows a trimester system. The first year consists of compulsory foundation courses. The second year consists of a few compulsory courses and several elective courses. The summer project is scheduled at the end of the first year. The programme offers major and minor specializations in the second year. The important themes running across courses are: Internationalism, Ethics and Information Technology. The Programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The MBA degree of the University is recognized as equivalent to MBA degree of any other Indian University.
Last date for receipt of filled-up application forms is December 31, 2008
Download application from our website www.imnu.ac.in and submit along with a DD of Rs. 1,500/-. Application form is also available from various centers of IMS Learning Resources, T.I.M.E and select branches of AXIS Bank on payment of Rs. 1,500/-.
Last Date for Receiving Form
Completed application forms must be returned by December 31, 2008. Candidates in the category of Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals and Non Resident Indians (NRIs)/Children of Indian workers of Gulf countries and South East Asia. Should enclose a bank draft for US$ 50 or Rs.2000/- drawn in favour of “Institute of Management’ ‘Nirma University’ and payable at Ahmedabad along with the completed application form.
Selection Process
The selection procedure for admission consists of two steps :
Written Test
Applicants for the full-time programme are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs which will be held on 16th November 2008.
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Candidates short-listed on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for group discussion and personal interview. The group discussion/personal interview will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, and New Delhi. The final selection to the programme would be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test, group discussion, personal interview and work experience.
The following weightage will be given for each component of the selection criteria :
Written Test : 70%
Personal Interview : 20%
Group Discussion : 10%
An additional score upto 10 points for work experience will also be given for full-time work experience at managerial level in a professional organization.
