TASMAC Distance MBA

The TASMAC distance Business Administration programme is an excellent option for managers and professionals. It offers a Masters Diploma in Business Administration. The program is affiliated with the Adam Smith University, which accepts credits of students who have completed their Masters Diploma with TASMAC, which means that students are qualified for an international MBA from the ASU.

The ASU has received accreditation from the governments of France, Liberia, etc. However, neither ASU degrees nor TASMAC diplomas are recognised by the government of India or any of the state governments. Adam Smith University is a member of the United Nations association of the USA and the Business Council for the United Nations. Adam Smith University is a member of the World Wide Web Chamber of Commerce. These degrees are not recognized by the Government of India, any other State Government or by any Indian University. However the degrees are useful to gain professional knowledge and many private and public sector undertakings accept the degrees for purpose of employment and promotion in service.

In order to be eligible for the TASMAC programme, a candidate must have graduated from any recognised university or be a diploma holder with two years of work experience.

TASMAC Programmes are extremely useful for working executives, self-employed entrepreneurs and job seekers who do not have a formal managerial qualification. These courses provide extensive knowledge of essential management techniques and offers an opportunity to everyone, irrespective of background, to receive job oriented training which meets business and industry requirements. It greatly improves the chances of getting a job and also improves career prospects, as lack of a management qualification often bars entry into managerial cadre in the corporate sector.

The Masters Diploma programme duration is of 2 years (4 semesters of 6 months each) of which 3 semesters are theory and one semester is meant for the project work. The Executive Masters Diploma is a fast track programme for working executives and is of one-year duration. It consists of 2 semesters of theory and the student can simultaneously complete the project work.

TASMAC courses are divided over four semesters. The first two semesters contain coursework common to all students. For the last two semesters, a candidate has a dual specialisation: during the third semester, one specialises in a subject from Group A (Contemporary Finance, Marketing or Human Resources) and during the last semester, specialises in a subject from Group B (International Business, Advertising, Public Relations, Hotel Management, Hospital Management or Marketing).

The semesters start in June and January every year, with exams being conducted afterwards.

The examinations are held at the end of each semester in January and July every year. Students residing in cities where we have examination centres have to appear for their semester end examinations through the Centre. Those students who reside in cities where there is no Examination Centre are permitted to appear through the proctor system.
Under this system the student is required to nominate a proctor preferably from the educational field or a Company Executive/ Senior Officer. On being approved by us the proctor will conduct the examinations on our behalf. The question papers and answersheets will be mailed to the proctor directly and he will have to return the written answersheets directly to us. Proctor nomination form and other details will be sent at the appropriate time. Only students whose registration is complete and whose fees are upto date are eligible to appear for the semester end examinations.

The exams have a 75 per cent weightage, while the term tests and assignments have a 25 per cent weightage. A candidate requires 50 per cent to pass. The programme lasts two years: four semesters of six months each.

TASMAC does not guarantee placement’s to the students. Majority of the students undergoing the Masters Diploma programmes are working students, some students are absorbed by companies while doing their project work or are employed immediately after completion of the course and others set out to start their own business. TASMAC, however does provide assistance to unemployed students based on merit.
